Privacy, Confidentiality, and your Comfort
Confidentiality and Conversation: The discussion between Reiki Practitioner and Client is confidential. The Client may or may not choose to talk during the Reiki Session. It is inappropriate for a Reiki Practitioner to discuss the Practitioner’s personal life with the Client. As of the date of this policy, Reiki does not fall under the same NJ State guidelines as other holistic modalities (such as massage or acupuncture to name but two). Should NJ State guidelines be established for Reiki at any time, we/I (All Things Light & Love, LLC) will conform to state mandates and requirements and as such may be required to release records under a court order, or to your doctor.
Your Comfort: Feedback about the effectiveness of the session, your comfort level for any head, back or arm rest positions as well as your comfort level using any modality tools (which may include the pendulum, crystals, verbal visualization, etc) and their effectiveness is welcomed and encouraged, as it helps me to refine and improve our sessions. Please feel free to share this type of information with me, as you become aware of it, during or after the session. Sometimes it is hard to remember areas that are sensitive, room temperature, our senses, sound, etc. until they are experienced. Additionally, please advise practitioner of any new ailments, issues or conditions that may require special attention or new accommodations.
Respect of Client Boundaries: The Client will be fully clothed during the Reiki Session. All Reiki hand positions on or around personal body part areas will be accomplished in a “hands-off” manor. Sexual interaction or discussion of any kind between the Client and the Reiki Practitioner is NEVER appropriate.
- The Reiki room door is never locked.
- The Client may stop the session at any time and is free to leave.
- The Client may refuse any Reiki methods, tools or techniques.
If at any time, you feel that another Reiki Practitioner would better serve you, please ask for a referral. If we do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable, tell us. We will not be offended as we hold our Reiki Session policies to a very high standard.

Sanitation and Hygiene and Water Intake
Sanitation and Hygiene: Our Reiki Session policies on sanitation are that all equipment and any linens that come in contact with the Client will be cleansed in an approved method. Before and after each Reiki Session, the Reiki Practitioner’s hands will be washed with hot soapy water and a disinfecting solution. Any breaks in the skin of the Reiki Practitioner will be covered with protective coverings. The Client must inform the Reiki Practitioner of any breaks in his/her skin, and these areas will be covered or Reiki treatment of that area will be conducted “hands-off” (hovering over the area).
Water Intake: Since Reiki loosens blocked energy and dissipates stagnated energy, it is recommended that you drink plenty of water following your session to cleanse and hydrate your body. After a Reiki session, most people feel very relaxed. Some experience freedom from long-term aches and pains developed from tension or repetitive activity. As Reiki energy has intelligence, it will often continue to flow through your body, mind and spirit after the session has ended. The Reiki energy may continue its healing while you meditate or exercise or when you go to sleep that night. It knows when your body is most apt to accept all of the healing energy from the Reiki Session. Keeping your body well hydrated is a healthy practice.
A restful sleep: You may find you sleep very well after a Reiki Session. You may also be very aware of your dreams as your mind and your spirituality can be heightened. You may be open to receiving messages while you sleep or perhaps awakened from your sleep with a message. Therefore it is suggested that you keep a notebook and pen next to your bed to record any messages during the night or your dream(s) upon awakening.
Wishing you abundant Reiki Blessings, today and everyday.
